Zamba used to be the MGM lion in Hollywood. Rumor has it he worked about eight years and then refused to work. Apparently, no one can make a 600 pound lion work if he doesn't want to, so he was retired to Cat Tales Zoological Park in Spokane, Washington where he lived out his golden years. I took many pictures of him. He seemed to always be sleeping or yawning. Sadly, he passed away in 2012.
